Q & A with a Super Hero: Pope, Police and Vice President
If you follow this blog at all via this page or our Facebook page, you know last week was the most insane week of our lives! We started Monday with Jake and Officer Laurie being named Champions of Change at the White House. Wednesday we had a close encounter with the coolest Pope ever, and Friday, Jake gave his police speech to some law enforcement in North Carolina.
I still sit and marvel at how the events of last week aligned. Some say I used my connections. Others believe I've been planning this for months. Let me tell you, thanks for thinking I'm that powerful, but there's no way a human could have planned it this way. Seriously, the Pope and the White House in one week? Really? This is an example of Divine Intervention. I'm honored to be blessed in this way. I've always said, God has his hand on this child and He proved it this week. Jake is here on this Earth to teach, he believes it and so do we.
I am breathless with life, but will continue serve in any way we can. We are blessed to be able to educate others about the gifts of Autism. While our family realizes the impact and opportunities placed before us, I'm not sure Jake really "gets" it. So of course I had to pick his brain. Enjoy!
